Peppers Grill: Mexican and BBQ Fusion

Peppers Grill is a newish take-out spot located at the corner of Edmonds and Canada Way in Burnaby that specializes in BBQ and Mexican food. While there are a few seats here where you can dine-in, everything seems to be geared towards take-out orders and they’ll still serve your dine-in order in take-out containers complete with pre-packaged disposable utensils and napkins. In today’s age, I would expect a bit more concern with the environment (they don’t even recycle the pop cans that you buy here – everything just goes in the trash).

Quesada Burritos & Tacos: Beyond Meat Burrito Bowl

Beyond Meat, the trendy plant-based meat substitute, seems to be taking the fast food industry by storm… notably with A&W (who always seems to run out of stock) and also with places now like Quesada Burritos & Tacos. Hugo’s Churros: Tacos and Churros

We don’t make a habit of visiting the McArthur Glen Designer Outlets out in Richmond very often due to the airport traffic and the lack of stores that appeal to us. However, we wound up visiting in early December to try and get some Christmas shopping done. Mall food, especially at outlet malls, have never been one of my favourites… it’s usually just okay enough to get you through the shopping trip. However, I was actually pleased with this visit as we got to try out Hugo’s Churros.

Sal Y Limón(Vancouver): Tacos in Vancouver

I’ve been looking forward to trying Sal y Limón in Vancouver for quite some time. Literally translated to “salt and lemon”, I think it’s been all of the pictures of their tacos in social media that’s been driving my obsession. And as with most obsessions, I might have hyped myself a bit too much.

Chipotle Mexican Grill (Metrotown) – Healthy or Not?

I’m a bit torn with Chipotle Mexican Grill… one the one hand, I love how you can pick and choose all of the fresh ingredients to make a tasty meal. On the other hand, I don’t delude myself into thinking that it’s always healthy to eat at Chipotle.

El Comal – Great Tortilla Chips

Back during the summer, we were down at the River District Farmers Market when we came across Green Machine Catering selling some of their addictive hot sauce. While we enjoyed their hot sauce, we were really impressed by the thin tortilla chips that they were using to sample their sauces. We asked where he got them from and he mentioned that they were from a local shop in Burnaby.
