Mitra Canteen: More Effort Needed
Been having some serious cravings for donairs/shawarmas lately (ever since that time when our fav donair shop was closed when we got there). So, when we found ourselves in the Mt. Pleasant area of Vancouver, we decided to try grabbing some donairs from a place that we’ve never been to before… Mitra Canteen.

AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint: Brooklyn-Style Pizza
AJ’s is a popular pizza joint on Broadway known for their thin Brooklyn-style pizzas (although they also have thick crust Detroit-style pizzas as well). I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and finally managed to visit in late October.

Sal Y Limón(Vancouver): Tacos in Vancouver
I’ve been looking forward to trying Sal y Limón in Vancouver for quite some time. Literally translated to “salt and lemon”, I think it’s been all of the pictures of their tacos in social media that’s been driving my obsession. And as with most obsessions, I might have hyped myself a bit too much.

Carp Sushi + Bento – Poke Bowls
2016 will come down as the year that poke finally arrived in Vancouver. Poke (pronounced po-keh) is a simple but classic dish that we fell in love with when we visited Hawaii… cubed, fresh, raw fish, marinated in special sauces (mainly shoyu, sesame oil, and/or spicy mayo).

La Petite Cuillere – Afternoon Tea
It’s been too long since we’ve had Afternoon Tea. I’m not sure what I enjoy more… trying the different types of teas or the selection of tiny pastries and sandwiches. La Petite Cuillere is the location of our latest foray and is located on Kingsway, near French Made Baking (I wonder if they get their macarons from FMB?)
