Recently, a new plant-focused restaurant opened up in the River Market area at the New West Quay, taking over the former location of Freebird Chicken. Helmed by the team that opened up El Santo in New West, this restaurant strives to provide vegetable-based cuisine that’s more than just your ordinary salad.

Wild Thyme: Tasty Lebanese Food

It’s been literally years since I first visited Wild Thyme. I recall it was just after they opened and it was a small little hole-in-the-wall joint which served up some classic Lebanese cuisine. It’s been a number of years since my last visit to Angelina’s Dutch Corner but they’ve recently moved into a new location at the River Market at the Quay. Kushi Mura Izakaya: Solid Japanese Snacking Options

Recently, Kushi Mura Izakaya opened up on the main floor of the Shops at New West (ie. New West Skytrain Station) at the western end closest to Quayside drive. Before you head over here, just keep in mind that parking rates here are high so you might be better off to find parking outside of the station.

Quesada Burritos & Tacos: Beyond Meat Burrito Bowl

Beyond Meat, the trendy plant-based meat substitute, seems to be taking the fast food industry by storm… notably with A&W (who always seems to run out of stock) and also with places now like Quesada Burritos & Tacos.
