Dublin Crossing Irish Pub (Marine Gateway)

We had high hopes for the Dublin Crossing Irish Pub in the new Marine Gateway complex. I mean, what’s not to love about an Irish Pub?

The Castle Neighbourhood Grill

The Castle Neighbourhood Grill is a difficult-to-find location if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Currently nestled within a residential community, this spot previously housed the Dublin Castle Irish Sports Grill (which we were sad to see go) and, more historically, the BC Penitentiary Guard House that closed down in 1980.

River’s Reach Pub

For some reason, I’ve been hitting up the local pubs in New West lately for lunch. It has nothing to do with drinking… I’m just looking for someplace new to eat and New West seems to have quite a few pubs. Read the rest of this entry

The Terminal Pub – Truffle Bacon Mac and Cheese

I’ve driven by The Terminal Pub in New West many times and finally found the time to drop by for lunch one weekday. Don’t let the adult xxx store located next door sway your decision to visit this pub.

Union Jack Public House – Jack’s Signature Stuffed Yorkies

Union Jack Public House is located in the old Moonrakers Neighbourhood Pub location.  I’ve never been to Moonrakers before but it looks like they did a pretty good job on the renos… plenty of dark wooden tables and large tvs on the walls.

Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar – Appies and Drinks

It’s been a while since our first visit to Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar.  We honestly had trouble deciding what to have on the menu so we just opted for a whole bunch of dishes to share. Read the rest of this entry

Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub (Whistler 2013) – Guinness and Crab Bisque

Dubh Linn Gate is one of the restaurants that we were interested in trying out since they have a patio.  Unforunately, dogs aren’t welcome on patios in Whistler.  Some places will let you sit at the edge of the patio while your pooch is tied up outside but we prefer to be unsegregated so we grabbed some food to go. Wings Restaurants & Pubs

My first visit to Wings (not to be confused with House of Wings a few blocks away) was on a late December weekday.  The lighting inside this pub is quite bright but the decor is mainly dark tones with black tables & seating, and dark coffered ceilings. Read the rest of this entry

Samz Pub (Pitt Meadows) – The Legend of the Lost Pitt Lake Gold Mine

Samz Pub recently opened up last year in the old Golden Ears Pub location in Pitt Meadows.  For those of you unaware, Pitt Meadows takes its name from the youngest British Prime Minister, William Pitt the Younger and the fact that the area is largely a flood plain next to the Pitt River (gee, I’m starting to sound like Sheldon now)… Interesting enough, William Pitt the Younger is referred to as “the Younger” to distinguish him from his father, William Pitt “the Elder”, also a former British Prime Minister.
