Driving through the historic Sapperton area of New Westminster one day, I noticed Sapperton District Taphouse and made a mental note to visit them one day when I had the chance.

Tenen Restaurant: Hearty Eastern European Food

Tucked away in a tiny little retail building on Royal Oak near Rumble Street in Burnaby, a modest Eastern European restaurant has taken over the location formerly occupied by Long J L Chinese Cuisine. It’s quite easy to miss this place as it’s somewhat hidden by the Chevron gas station next door.

Old Bavaria Haus – Potato Pancakes and Schnitzel

We had a hankering for some good schnitzel recently so we wound up at Old Bavaria Haus in New West.  Because this restaurant is located in a remodelled historic house, there are different dining areas (this time we wound up on the west side of the house).

Bernie’s Balkan Kitchen – Burek and Schnitzel

Bernie’s Balkan Kitchen has been located near the corner of Kingsway and Edmonds for a number of years but, as I understand it, they plan on moving due to the impending redevelopment of the area. 

Old Bavaria Haus – Schnitzel Heaven

Just a few blocks down from Taqueria Playa Tropical on 6th Street is an old home that has been converted into a German restaurant specializing in schnitzel.
