Purebread (Gastown) – Bakery Heaven

Nothing cures our craving for scones as much as a visit to Purebread. Walking into this bakery located on Hastings Street is a bit overwhelming with the sheer variety of items that they have.

Créme de la Crumb Bakeshop (Clark Drive) – Mayan Hot Chocolate

Créme de la Crumb is a growing chain of bakery shops that serves up tasty pastries as well as deli items. The location on Clark Drive is nestled in the middle of a semi-industrial area and, aside from the dark counter area, actually seems pretty bright and spacious.

Purebread (Whistler 2013) – Scones, Nutella Krispie, and Lemon Chevre Brownie

Up until recently, if you were looking for baked products from Purebread, you’d either have to head out to their location at Function Junction or hit them up at a local farmer’s market. Read the rest of this entry

900 West Lounge – White Monkey Paw

Okay, so we’ve had one of the great DealFind coupons for Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver burning a hole in our pocket since last year.  We originally visited last summer and were quite pleased… especially with the raisin scones (see our first visit).

Secret Garden Tea Company – High Tea

Contrary to it’s name, the Secret Garden Tea Company is hardly a secret at all… in fact, it’s one of the more popular places for High Tea (or Afternoon Tea if you want to get technical).  We made reservations for noon – and, as usual with our luck, they had some trouble finding our reservations.  Fortunately, we arrived early enough that they were still able to seat us because the tables started filling up quickly as soon as we sat down. PNE 2011 – Fair Food

We’ve been going to the Pacific National Exhibition every year since we were kids.  Some things have changed over the years (I still miss the BC Pavilion with the Challenger Relief Map) but one thing that hasn’t changed is that the PNE is a great place to go to get yummy fair food.
