Kaikaya By The Sea: Tokyo 2017

One of our best meals during our last visit to Tokyo was at an izakaya (a restaurant that serves up Japanese tapas) located in Shibuya. We heard that this place was popular so we made an effort to show up early for their dinner seating. It’s about a 10 minute walk west of the Hachikō statue but it’s on a small little side street that we probably wouldn’t have even noticed.

It seems like inside every department store in Japan, you can find a lot of food options… typically, the basement floors have the deli and fast food options while restaurants are located on the higher floors.

One of the best meals that I had in Japan was when we came across this curry house while we were in Shibuya. Curry House Coco Ichibanya is a popular chain that’s been around since 1978.
