Kukuru (Universal Citywalk): Osaka 2017

We probably all know takoyaki (round balls of grilled batter stuffed with pieces of octopus) from street vendors at night markets. But in Japan (and particularly Osaka), these hot and puffy treats are serious business.

Odaiba Takoyaki Museum (Tokyo 2016): Takoyaki Heaven

Quick! When you think of Japanese street food… what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Did you say “takoyaki”? You can find takoyaki in Vancouver, but for the uninitiated, takoyaki is round-shaped dumplings filled with piece of octopus (ie. tako) and then topped with various ingredients.

Uwajimaya Asian Food & Gift Market – Tako Kyuuban (Seattle)

Uwajimaya Asian Food & Gift Market is located in the Chinatown-International District of Seattle. In some regards, it’s similar to the Fujiya stores in Vancouver. You can find pretty much everything you need here… there’s a large asian book store attached to one side of the market and an eclectic selection of asian food stalls in the food court. Sushi Oyama – Powell Street Festival Redo
