The Chicken Restaurant: Asian Fried Chicken

The Chicken Restaurant is a newish Asian fried chicken place (who would have guessed with that name, huh?) that opened up on Imperial St. in Burnaby.
I’ve been eyeing this place for a while and finally managed to try it out in early February. Their Spicy Chicken Sandwich ($8.99) is a bit basic in design but well executed. A crispy chicken thigh is paired together with tomato and lettuce inside a thickish bun. The chicken meat is nice and juicy on the inside and it’s seasoned with just the right amount of spice to give it a kick.

I revisited in early March to try their 6pc Spicy Chicken ($18.49) and Yam Fries with Spicy Mayo ($4.99). They actually do a pretty good job with their chicken here. The meat was juicy and the skin was crispy. It kind of reminded me Church’s Chicken but with a thicker coating (maybe more similar to Hi-Five). That being said, the chicken did seem slightly more oily. I like that they offer yam fries as they were yummy.
