Opa! Souvlaki (Metrotown)

As the Greek would say… “Opa!”  What exactly does “Opa!” mean?  Well, it’s basically just an exclamation of joy or jubilant celebration.  And who wouldn’t want to celebrate with a combo plate like this?

Opa! Souvlaki is one of the many food stalls located in the Metropolis food court.  Started in Calgary in 1998, this restaurant now has over 75 locations across the country.

This Pita Wrap Plate comes served with a Caesar salad for $8.69.  I ordered the thinly sliced gyros meat cut off the rotating spit.  While I generally prefer a thinner pita wrap, the pita bread that Opa! uses is lightly grilled which gives it a slightly crisp exterior in contrast to the soft interior.

The pita comes with tomatoes, red onions, feta cheese, lettuce (and jalepeño peppers if you request).

This was actually a lot better than I expected, although the price was a little expensive for mall food.
