Donair Star – New West Hole-in-the-Wall
Donair Star is a tiny hole-in-the-wall located on 12th St. in New West. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much… but then, most donair places are like this.
I visited back in March but had forgotten all about this post until I came across an old photo. I recall that I parked about a block away and I swear I could smell the food wafting through the air.
I grabbed the Lunch Special Combo 1 – Regular Lamb with a bag of chips and can of pop ($6.49). I had mine spicy with all of the trimmings which included tomatoes, onions, cucumber, and lettuce. I thought that the donair was a bit runny/watery but otherwise pretty good and it had a generous amount of meat under the toppings.
